BAY CITY, Mich. - Saginaw Valley State University defensive back Marvin White has been selected as the GLIAC Special Teams Player of the Week for week five. He becomes the third different GLIAC Player of the Week this season, joining two-time defensive honoree Matt McKoy and week three special teams player Alex Kenrick.
White returned a kick-off 100 yards for a touchdown and Saginaw Valley's game-winning score in the team's 17-16 road victory at Michigan Tech. White, the redshirt freshman, added a pair of tackles as well from the cornerback position for the Cardinals.
The Cardinals improved to 3-2 overall on the season and carry a similar 3-2 league record into Saturday night's homecoming game versus the Northern Michigan University Wildcats. Kick-off is set for 7:00 p.m. at Wickes Stadium.
