GLIAC -- Saginaw Valley State University Men's Basketball student-athlete Myles Belyeu has been selected as the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Men's Basketball South Division Player of the Week after his performance this past weekend.
Freshman guard Myles Belyeu (Trotwood, Ohio) averaged 28.0 points per game and 4.5 rebounds per game while leading the Cardinals to a 1-1 record last week. Belyeu, who averages a team-leading 18.6 ppg to rank third in the GLIAC in overall scoring, recorded his second 30-point performance of the season on Saturday, registering 30 points while grabbing five boards in the team's 75-54 victory at Michigan Tech. He totaled 26 points and four rebounds during an 87-73 loss at Northern Michigan.
The Cardinals return home to O'Neill Arena for a four-game stretch, beginning Thursday (Feb. 14) versus Grand Valley State University. Tip-off is set for 8:00 p.m.
