LEXINGTON, Ky. - The SVSU men's golf team finished in ninth place over the weekend at the GLIAC South Invitational, held at the Andover Country Club in Lexington, Kentucky and hosted by the University of Findlay.

The Cardinals followed up Friday's round of 328 with a figure of 301 on Saturday, finishing one stroke back of eighth place Northern Michigan University. Grand Valley State won the event with a final count of 597.

Michael Hansen had the low round for the Cards, firing a 74 on the second day of competition. He finished with a total score of 157 (+13) and tied for 33rd. Mason Motte had a top-10 finish for Saginaw Valley, as the followed a 77 with a 75 on Saturday to tie for 10th overall with a score of 152 (+8). 

Dustin Pumford (83-76, T-40th), Ryan Peruski (85-76, T-46th) and Alexander Dice (86-84, 64th) rounded-out the competitors for Saginaw Valley. 

The Cardinals are back in action April 2-3 when the guys compete in the third NCAA Division II regional tournament. The third installment of the regional events is being hosted at Elks Run Golf Club in Batavia, Ohio.
