Cardinal men sit in second after first round at Motor City Invitational

DEARBORN, Mich. - The SVSU men's golfers began play at the 2016 Motor City Invitational on Sunday (Oct. 16) in what is their final event of the fall. The Cardinals sit in second place after an opening score of 304, 10 strokes behind tournament leader Grand Valley State. 

Dustin Pumford led the Cardinals in the opening 18 holes that was delayed a bit with rain, shooting a two-over score of 74 to sit in a tie for fourth place overall.

Mason Motte and Jared Lyons were next, each carding a round of 76 (+4) to tie for 15th after the first round.

Ryan Peruski and Austin Carter are tied for 25th after shooting opening scores of 78 (+6) on Sunday.

Saginaw Valley will be back in action on Monday for the second and final round, looking to make a move in the second round.
