Men's Golf Finishes 4th at SVSU Spring Invitational

GEORGETOWN, Ky. - The SVSU men's golf team posted a fourth-place finish at the annual SVSU Spring Invitational, held at the Cherry Blossom Golf Course in Georgetown, Kentucky. 

The Cardinals registered a two-day total score of 598, finishing in a tie for the fourth slot with Ferris State, just two shots behind third-place Grand Valley State. Bellarmine won the event, finishing just six strokes ahead of SV with a 592.

Mason Motte had the best finish for the Cardinals, tying for fifth-place with his rounds of 72-73. Ryan Peruski was next, finishing tied for 17th overall after his scores of 74-76. Jared Lyons tied for 28th with his rounds of 78-74 while Austin Carter tied for 34th after shooting scores of 83-70. Dustin Pumford tied for 69th overall, carding scores of 81-76 for Saginaw Valley. 

Michael Hansen (81-78), Steven Kish (83-77) and Jordan Weaver (85-77) all competed as individuals for the Cardinals as well over the weekend. 

Saginaw Valley is back in action on Monday (Mar. 27) at the GLIAC South Invitational. That event is slated to be played at the Andover Country Club in Lexington, Kentucky.
