Women's Tennis Drops 6-3 Match At Davenport

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Saginaw Valley State University women's tennis team fell on the road to Davenport University by a score of 6-3 on Saturday (Oct. 19).

SVSU picked-up its first point in doubles play, as the team of Izabella Ismailova and Charlotte Wong defeated their opponents 9-8 on a 7-3 tiebreaker at #2 doubles.

Meghan Woody got things going for SVSU in #2 singles, defeating her opponent with scores of 6-3, 1-6 and 6-3 to notch the second point for the Cardinals.

Saginaw Valley was victorious at #3 singles as well, with Erin Doud downing her opponent 6-4, 6-1 to round-out the scoring on the day for the Cardinals.

Ismailova lost her #1 singles match in three sets, falling 4-6, 6-4 and 7-5.  Hannah Wittock also pushed her match to three sets before falling 1-6, 6-4 and 0-6.

The loss ends the Cardinals' championship season at 4-11 overall and 4-10 in conference play.
