Cardinals compete at Greater Louisville Open

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The SVSU cross country teams traveled to Louisville, Kentucky on Saturday (Oct. 1) to run at the Greater Louisville Open, hosted by the University of Louisville at the E.P. Tom Sawyer Park. The Cardinal men finished 8th out of 33 teams in the 8K race while the women were 32nd in their 5K event.

Leading the men was Eddie Komph, who finished in 40th place in the event with a time of 24:48.99. Tom Goforth was next for SVSU in 42nd, crossing the line with a time of 24:50.87. Joey Southgate was 63rd overall with his time of 25:05.70 while Tristan Fackelman notched a 66th place showing with a time of 25:08.58.

Allison Dorr was the top finisher for the women, crossing the line in 120th with her time of 18:14.60. Sophia Bradley was the next finisher, posting a time of 18:48.50. Christina Micale was next for the Lady Cardinals with a time of 19:08.30.

Saginaw Valley is in action next on Friday (Oct. 7) at the Michigan Intercollegiate Meet, hosted by Hillsdale College.
