Joseph Burelle, SVSU Men's Track & Field

Joseph Burelle (Sterling Heights, Mich./Livonia Stevenson HS), a junior transfer on the SVSU Men's Track and Field team, recorded a time of 8:46.32 to take first place in the 3,000-meter run at the CMU Jack Skoog Open on Friday (Feb. 17).

Burelle's time is his best finish of the indoor season in the 3,000-meter run. Joseph also has top finishes in the mile and the 5,000-meter run.

Burelle is coming off a strong cross country season in which he posted two top-ten finishes, including 10th place at the Central Michigan University Invitational and a seventh place finish at the Lansing Community College Invitational.

Burelle is a transfer student from Macomb Community College where he garnered All-American honors and also holds records in the 2k and 3k races.

The Cardinals will be back in action again Friday and Saturday (2/24-25) when they compete in the GLIAC Indoor Championships at the University of Findlay.
