Jeff Janis (Tawas City, Mich./Tawas Area HS), sophomore wide receiver for the SVSU football team, caught two touchdown passes from quarterback Jonathon Jennings (Columbus, Ohio/Westerville South HS) late in the second quarter to give the Cardinals the lead in the 28-20 victory over Wayne State. Jennings hooked up on a 22-yard pass to Janis with 2:58 remaining in the second quarter to tie the score at 14-14. Jeff caught his second touchdown from Jennings on a 39-yard strike to put the Cardinals ahead 21-14 over the Warriors. Janis now has 31 catches for 637 yards and 8 touchdowns on the season and averages 20.5 yards per catch.
