KISSIMMEE, Fla. - The Saginaw Valley State University women's tennis team picked up its second straight 9-0 victory; this time over Southwest Minnesota State University Monday, March 7 as part of the team's annual Florida trip.

The Cardinals started with three wins at doubles. Erin Doud and Ana Pico Garcia won 8-2 at no. 1 doubles. Shea Donahue and Abby Shonk picked up a point at no. 2 doubles, 8-3. Mikayla Kazdan and Danielle Slonac combined to win 8-0 at no. 3 doubles; it marked Kazdan's first time in the regular line up for a dual match.

"I was happy to see Mikayla get her first college win today," said Jenn Boehm, head coach. "She has been working hard on her game and improving in practice, and most importantly, she's healthy. Good programs use their depth to their advantage, and we want to continue to give her more match experience."

In singles play, Izabella Ismailova won at no. 1 singles, 6-0, 6-4. Pico Garcia defeated her opponent, 6-0, 6-1, at no. 2 singles. Donahue and Doud posted 6-0, 6-0 victories at no. 3 and no. 4 singles, respectively.  Shonk posted a win at no. 5 singles, 6-1, 6-0, and Slonac won 6-0, 6-0 at no. 6 singles.
