With teams sliding up a spot in doubles and all singles players bumping a spot as well, the Cardinals adapted well and stayed solid throughout the match.

Abigail Shonk and Shea Donahue won 8-5 at the no. 2 slot and the team of Erin Doud and Mikayla Kazdan posted an 8-1 advantage in no. 3 doubles. It was the first time Doud and Kazdan have paired-up for a doubles match.

Ismailova won 6-2, 6-3 at no. 1 singles while Donahue cliamed a 6-4, 6-0 win in the no. 2 hole. Doud was victorious at no. 3 singles 6-0, 6-2. Shonk, Slonac and Kazdan all had clean 6-0, 6-0 shutout wins at the 4, 5 and 6 singles spots, respectively.

From Head Coach Jenn Boehm...

"In just their second season, Lawrence Tech is a much improved team from last season. Their doubles teams were more aggressive and confident and they played us tough in many singles spots as well. It was a good test for our team to stay focused and work on executing."

"We are developing some new tactics in doubles and got to try them out for the first time today. I was pleased with how we looked, but I am more excited about the possibilities once we've practiced it more."
