Alexa Gehrls (Caledonia, Mich./Caledonia HS), a junior starting pitcher on the SVSU Softball team, picked up two wins for the Cardinals last week.

Gehrls first win came against Lake Superior State University in a 9-2 victory in which she threw a complete game allowing four hits while striking out five batters.

The highlight of the weekend for the Lady Cardinals was a 5-3 win over #14 Grand Valley State University on Saturday (Apr. 7). Gehrls again threw a complete game and struck out eight Lakers.

Gehrls is currently ranked fourth in the conference in strikeouts with 85.
