Jon Wetters (Essexville, Mich./Garber HS), a senior steeplechase runner on the SVSU Men's Track & Field team, led the Cardinals with a first place finish in the 3,000-meter steeplchase and crossed the line with a NCAA DII Provisional Qualifying time of 9:18.04.

This was only the second opportunity Wetters has had to run the steeplechase in the young 2012 Outdoor Track & Field season. Wetters' time was his personal best for this outdoor season. His other finishes included 9:25.48 at the MSU Spartan Invitational and 9:38.31 at the GVSU/SVSU Dual.
