Garrett Hall - Men's Basketball
Garrett Hall (Indianapolis, Ind. / Cathedral HS) helped the Cardinals win all three of their match-ups last week, extending their winning streak to seven. Hall had a team-high 20 points, also adding four rebounds and three assists in their first game of the week at Hillsdale on Monday (Feb. 1). He posted 11 points on Thursday's (Feb. 4) game against Lake Superior State, shooting a 100% (4-of-4) from the free throw line. He also recorded three rebounds, one assist and one steal. Hall surpassed the 1,000 point mark on Saturday's (Feb. 6) game against Northwood. All together, he contributed nine points, seven rebounds and two assists against the Timberwolves.
Emily Wendling - Women's Basketball
Emily Wendling (Flushing, Mich. / Flushing HS) helped lead SVSU to a 3-0 week and remain atop the GLIAC North Division standings in wins over Hillsdale, Lake Superior State and Northwood. Wendling posted three double-doubles over the stretch, averaging 17.7 ppg and 13.7 rpg in the victories. She posted a career-high in rebounds with 17 Thursday night at LSSU. Wendling leads the GLIAC in scoring with 18.9 ppg and field goal percentage at 56.8%. She ranks fourth with a 9.8 rpg average.
The Cardinals host Northern Michigan on Thursday, February 11th, and Michigan Tech on Saturday, February 13th. On Thursday, the women tip-off at 6:00 pm, followed by the men's game at 8:00 pm. The Lady Cardinals face off with the Huskies at 1:00 pm on Saturday and the men's game starts at 3:00 pm.
