Joey Southgate - Cross Country
Joey Southgate (Unionville, Mich./Unionville-Sebewaing Area HS) competed in the GLIAC Cross Country Championships last Saturday, October 24, finishing with a time of 24:44.2 in the men's 8K race. This earned him a sixth place finish and First Team All-GLIAC honors.
The Cardinals will compete again on Novemeber 7 at the NCAA Regional Championships in Evansville, Indiana.
Izabella Ismailova - Tennis
Izabella Ismailova (Almaty, Kazkhstan/Military College of Sport) was named to the 2015 All-GLIAC First Team at the conclusion of the postseason tournament at the Greater Midland Tennis Center this past weekened.
On Saturday against Hillsdale, Ismailova and her #2 doubles partner Danielle Slonac posted a match score of 8-1. Ismailova then went on to win her #1 singles match, 6-4 and 6-3.
At Sunday's match against Ferris State, she and Slonac fell at #2 doubles. Ismailova won in her singles match, winning with set scores of 6-3 and 6-2.
