Shaun Yap - Swimming & Diving
Shaun Yap (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia / Taylor's University - Malaysia) competed in the 200 yard breaststroke and 100 yard backstroke last week at the 2016 NCAA Championships hosted in the Indiana University Natatorium. In the men's 200 yard breaststroke, Shaun Yap took 13th in the consolation finals and marked a new program record of 1:59.58. In the men's 100 yard backstroke prelims, Shaun Yap finished 20th with a time of 55.25. He earned Honorable Mention All American and is the first men's swimmer in program history to score points in an individual swimming event at the NCAA Championships.
Wilhelmina Francisco - Swimming & Diving
Wilhelmina Francisco (Chelsea, Mich. / Chelsea HS) competed in the 3 meter diving event and set a new program 11 dive record with 426.65 points which was also a personal best at the 2016 NCAA Championships last week. She finished 15th in the event and scored the first ever points in the women's program history at the NCAA Championships (2) and earned NCAA Honorable Mention All-American. Francisco took 19th in the 1 meter diving event with a final score of 4169.90.
