Shaun Yap - Swimming & Diving
Shaun Yap (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia / Taylor's University - Malaysia) finished first in three out of four individual races he competed in last weekend at the Cleveland State Invitational. He posted times of 54.20 in the 100 yard breaststroke and 25.00 in the 50 yard breaststroke. In the 200 yard breaststroke he was the only swimmer to break two minutes, posting a time of 1:59.92. Yap qualified for the NCAA "B" cut in the 100 and 200 yard breaststroke.
He also helped the men's 200 yard medley relay and 400 yard medley relay to finish fourth in both races and the 200 yard freestyle relay and 400 yard freestyle relay to finish seventh in both races.
Emily Wendling - Women's Basketball
Emily Wendling (Flushing, Mich. / Flushing HS) helped lead the Cardinals to two double-digit victories this weekend against LeMoyne-Owen (85-49) and Missouri S&T (61-47) at the GLIAC/GLVC Tournament. On Friday's (Nov. 20) game against LeMoyne-Owen, Wendling scored 24 points, going 11-of-15 in shooting. She also posted nine rebounds and two assists. Wendling recorded 17 points on Saturday's (Nov. 21) match against Missouri S&T. She went 8-of-12 in shooting and grabbed eight rebounds.
