BAY CITY - Saginaw Valley State University redshirt freshman baseball student-athlete Michael Ellenbest has been chosen as the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Week #7 Baseball North Division "Pitcher of the Week" for his performance in a victory over Hillsdale College on Saturday.

Ellenbest worked 7.0 innings, scattering just five hits and allowing zero runs in the victory.  He struck-out 10 batters in the game, making it two starts in a row he had posted 10 K's and three in a row where he has struck-out at least nine batters.

The Cardinals return to the field at home on Wednesday (Apr. 22), as they host Marygrove College in a single, nine-inning game.  First pitch is set for 3:00 p.m. at the SVSU Baseball Complex.
