SVSU's Red Alert Wins 2011 Philo Media Arts Festival Award

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. -  Saginaw Valley State University was recently selected as a 1st place Winner in the 2011 Philo Media Arts Festival for an edition of its Red Alert TV program.   Red Alert is a joint video production of the Instructional Technology Center / IT Services and SVSU Athletics, videotaped weekly each Fall and periodically through the remainder of the academic year.  The program highlights SVSU Athletics and is videotaped on campus in the video production facilities located in Curtiss Hall .  

The 1st place entry was for an edition featuring a fall of 2010 re-cap of the Michigan Tech game with Head Football Coach Jim Collins and host JJ Boehm.   The winning program also featured assistant coach Andre Griffin and former women's tennis coach Mike Major. 

Philo Awards are presented annually to Community Access Television entrants.   The program won in the category of Sports Entertainment / Talk - Professional.    This year's festival received nearly 350 entries with competition in various categories.   The winning program was directed by James Woods and produced by Dan Goodell, Matt Woodbury, and Brian Mudd.
