UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. — Saginaw Valley State University kicker Teagen Lenderink was named GLIAC Special Teams Player of the Week after an upset win over 7th-ranked Grand Valley State in the Battle of the Valleys.
Lenderink was a difference-maker in the Cardinals' 20–19 victory on Saturday. Lenderink accounted for 10 of SVSU's 20 points, going a perfect 3-for-3 on field goals from 53, 25, and 49 yards. His 53-yarder was his career-long as a Cardinal. In addition to his scoring, Lenderink handled all punting and kickoff duties, averaging 46.2 yards on five punts with a long of 53 and 57.5 yards on four kickoffs, including two touchbacks.
This is the second player of the week honor of the season for SVSU football and the first for Lenderink as a Cardinal.
