MARQUETTE, Mich. – The Saginaw Valley
State University men’s golf team sits in fifth-place overall
after the second round of the 2009 GLIAC Men’s Golf
Championships on the Greywalls Course at the Marquette Golf Club.
Grand Valley State University retains its first day lead, now at
+24 overall for the tournament, followed by Wayne State University,
which is at +30.
Nate Kelly leads the Cardinals individually, sitting in fifth
overall, shooting rounds of 73-74, which puts him at +5 for the
championship. Brian King is the next-closest Cardinal, positioned
in a tie for 15th after the first two rounds. Dieter Schulz (T-18,
+13), Rob Ronk (T-22, +15) and John Lange (37, +21) rounded-out
play for SVSU in the second round. Eric Lilleboe of Ferris State
University remains in the lead after 36 holes, sitting at -2 after
shooting twin rounds of 70.
Play continues Monday for the Cardinals, as they look to make a
charge on the last day of competition.
