Marsh Leads After Day One of GLIAC Spring Invite

NEW ALBANY, Ohio - The Saginaw Valley State University golf team traveled to compete at the GLIAC South Spring Invitational at the Winding Hollow Golf Club in New Albany, Ohio.  First round competition was played on Saturday (Apr. 19).

After the first day of competition, the Cardinals find themselves in eighth place with a team score of 315, four shots behind seventh place Ohio Dominican.

Carter Marsh went low in the first round for Saginaw Valley, carding a one-under par score of 71.  He is one shot clear of Northern Michigan's Jared Reid (72).

Micah Skidmore was the only other Cardinal to finish below an 80 after the first 18 holes of play.  Skidmore shot a 79 (+7) and sits in a tie for 30th place.

Malone University leads after the opening round with a score of 303.

Day two will commence on Sunday with a shotgun start teeing-off at 8:00 am.
