LEMONT, Ill. - The Saginaw Valley State University men's golf team, coming off a second round score of 299 that had the Cardinals in the 8th spot overall, posted a 308 on the third and final day of the 2015 NCAA Division II Midwest / Central Super Regionals to finish in 10th place.  The event was played at the Cog Hill Dubsdread Course.

The Cardinals finished with scores of 307-299-308 (+50) for the 914 total, five strokes behind ninth place Southern Nazarene.  Central Oklahoma claimed the championship with a final score of 885 (+21).  SVSU finished nine strokes back of fifth place Indianapolis and Minnesota State-Mankato, which finished with a total score of 905 (+41).  The top five teams advance on to compete in the NCAA Division II Nationals and two individuals not on an advancing team.  Uindy defeated Mankato to advance to nationals in a playoff.

SVSU was the top Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) finisher in the Super Regionals with the 10th-place finish.

Senior Micah Skidmore led the way for SVSU on the third day, as he shot a 73 on the last day to finish with a total score of 221 (+5).  The performance tied him for ninth place, his sixth top-10 showing of the 2015 season.

Fellow senior Wyatt Drost carded a 76 on Wednesday for his lowest round of the tournament, tying his score he had on Tuesday.  He finished with a total score of 239.

Senior Carter Marsh ended up tied for 37th overall in the championships after firing rounds of 75-74-79 (228, +12) while another senior, Jeremy Schultz, also competed in his last event for the Cards.  Schultz had rounds of 75-81-82 (238, +22) for Saginaw Valley.

Sophomore Ryan Peruski also competed for Saginaw, as he posted scores of 83-75-80 (238, +22) and tied with Schultz overall.

The tournament concludes the 2014-15 season for the men's golf team, which will graduate five seniors from this year's roster.
