UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - The Saginaw Valley State University men's soccer team clinched the top seed in the GLIAC and has earned the right to host the 2011 Soccer Championships on November 3 and 5. There will be two semifinal games on Nov. 3 and a championship game on Nov. 5. The Cardinals are 7-2-2 in the conference this season and 3-0-1 in their last four games, including a 2-0 win on Thursday (Oct. 20) over Tiffin and a 5-0 win on Sunday (Oct. 22) over Findlay this past weekend.
SVSU, ranked No. 22 in the NSCAA Poll and No. 2 in the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Rankings, will continue its historic season on Thursday (Oct. 27) when they travel to Northwood before closing the season out at home on Saturday (Oct. 29) against Malone.
