UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - The Saginaw Valley State University men's soccer team remained at the No. 2 position in the latest NCAA Midwest Regional Rankings today (11/2).
Saginaw Valley dropped a 3-2 decision against Northwood on Thursday (10/27) but bounced back against Malone in a 2-1 overtime decision on Saturday (10/29) to close out the regular season with a 12-3-3 overall record. SVSU finished the conference schedule with a 7-3-2 record and their first Men's Soccer Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship in school history.
The Cardinals continue their march towards a GLIAC Tournament title and NCAA postseason when they host the 2011 GLIAC Men's Soccer Championship this Thursday (1/3) and Saturday (1/5). Saginaw Valley will compete in Semifinal #2 on Thursday as the No. 1 seed where they will face the No. 4 seed, Tiffin University Dragons, at 2:30 p.m.
