Jamie Melchert enters her first season with the Cardinal coaching staff working primarily with pitchers and catchers.

She spent last season as the pitching coach at Calvin College. During this time Calvin recorded their first winning season, 17-13, since 2005. Prior to Calvin she spent the 2012 season as the assistant coach at Walled Lake Northern Highschool.

Melchert's collegiate career began at Muskegon Community College where she earned All MCCAA, All NJCAA and All Region Tournament team honors. She was also named Muskegon CC's female athlete of the year in 2009. Melchert then transferred and pitched her remaining two years at Eastern Michigan University. While at EMU she was named MAC pitcher of the week and helped Eastern earn its first MAC tournament appearance since 2007.
