BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Saginaw Valley State University swimming & diving programs have qualified five individual swimmers and four relay teams that will compete in the 2017 NCAA Division II Championships. Along with that, one diver will compete in the NCAA Dive-in Meet, looking to qualify for the championships as well.
Below are the SVSU qualifiers and the events that the individuals will compete in. The championships are set to take place from March 7-11 in Birmingham, Alabama as part of the Division II National Championship Festival. Aside from the individual qualifiers, three student-athletes are set to travel as alternates and will be able to compete in the relays.
The Cardinals are coming off a strong performance at the 2017 GLIAC Championships, where the teams notched 26 new program records, 79 personal best times, 24 NCAA 'B" times and the program's first-ever GLIAC Champion (Lydia Mattar - 200 Breast).
