Women's Basketball Lose to Wayne State

DETROIT, Mich. - The Saginaw Valley State women’s basketball winless streak is now at seven after losing tonight (Feb. 5) to Wayne State, 75-63.

Leading the Cardinals, freshman guard Marah Kyle (Bluffton, Ind.) sank 21 points on 6-of-10 shooting, including going 4-for-7 from behind the three-point arch. Sophomore guard Kelley Wesp (Cincinnati, Ohio) drained 11 points and senior point guard Tricia Everett contributed 10 points.

The loss drops the Cardinals’ record to 2-18 overall and 1-14 in the GLIAC, while Wayne State improves to 6-14 overall and 4-11 in the GLIAC. SVSU will return to action at 4 p.m. Saturday (Feb. 7) when the Cardinals will take on Northwood University in Midland, Mich.
