NEW YORK, N.Y. - Columbia University was recently host to 36 women's college basketball head coaches for a two and a half day, invite-only, elite leadership program which concluded on June 11, 2014. This was the fourth year for the program in which there are over 200 graduates. Saginaw Valley State University Head Coach Jamie Pewinski was invited to take part in this year's program.
"The Center for Coaching Excellence gave me an opportunity to learn from people who not only care about the game of collegiate women's basketball, but care about teaching us to be better leaders for the youth that we're coaching. It was just incredible to see their passion," said Pewinski, who will be entering her fourth season as the head coach of the Cardinals. "The Center for Coaching Excellence energizes you to go back and use what you've learned. The knowledge and the level of commitment of the faculty and our facilitators absolutely got us ready to make an impactful return to campus."
