Women's Basketball Clinches GLIAC Playoff Berth - Will Travel to Northern Michigan University

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – The Saginaw Valley State University women's basketball team has clinched the five seed in the GLIAC conference championships and will head to Marquette, Michigan to take on the Wildcats of Northern Michigan University in a first round matchup.

The quarter-final contest will be held at 7:30pm in the Berry Events Center on the campus of NMU. Links to tickets can be found on the Northern Michigan Tickets Website or by clicking here. Purchased tickets will be good for both the men's and women's contest.

A Look Inside the Matchup

The Cardinals split the season series 1-1 with the Wildcats, dropping the first contest 56-52 and winning the second contest 46-43. Tori DePerry produced a double-double for both contests and lead the scoring overall. Kaitlyn Zarycki added 10 and 14 points respectively to each contest coming off a mid-season injury. In the second game of the series, SVSU was able to hold all scorers except one under double digits.

The two squads have a one-point scoring differential in favor of the 'Cats in the regular-season-series. The Cardinals look to capitalize on late season, outstanding, play from freshman guard Emma Dziezgowski and veteran producers such as Zarycki, DePerry, and Tyler Scheid
