ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. – The Saginaw Valley State University tennis team picked up its second straight win defeating Christopher Newport, 7-2 in their final matchup of their spring season.

The SVSU doubles teams would make a sweep of Christopher Newport, picking up three victories for the Cardinals. Saginaw Valley's 1 Doubles team of Yunjiao Shangguan (Chengdu, China/Shiyang HS) and Meghan Woody (Midland, Mich./Dow HS) rallied to defeat their opponents of Stafford and Gloor, 9-8 in a tie breaker.

Charlotte Wong (Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island/Colonel Gray Senior High) and Annessa Campian (Troy, Mich.) would come from behind to defeat Morrissett and Nolan, 8-6 for Saginaw Valley and the 3 Doubles team of Katie Piorkowski (Essexville, Mich./Garber HS) and Bobbi Enos (Almont, Mich) would battle to the final point to defeat the team of Stallman and Downs, 8-5.

Woody would pick up her second win of the afternoon defeating Morrissett in straight 6-2 sets and Enos claimed the win in the 4 Singles position, defeating Stallman 6-1 and 6-3. Both Campian and Theresa Fredericks (Saginaw, Mich./Bay City Western HS ) would defeat their opponents in the 5 Singles and 6 Singles spots for the Cardinals.

Saginaw Valley finished their 2012 spring season with 2-3 record and an 8-12 overall record on the season.
