UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - The Saginaw Valley State University women's tennis team was defeated by Ohio Dominican University today (Sept. 8) in a GLIAC match by a score of 6-3.

Starting the Cardinals off with a win was the #1 doubles team of Erin Doud (Northville, Mich./Northville HS) and Meghan Woody (Midland, Mich./Dow HS), who outscored their opponents 8-4.

Furthering her success on the day, Woody was also able to pick up another victory at #2 singles, winning 6-4, 6-2.  Izabella Ismailova (Almaty, Kazkhstan/Military College of Sport) won her #1 singles match for the second consecutive day, downing her Panther opponent 6-2, 6-3. 

With the loss, Saginaw Valley falls to 0-3 overall and 0-3 in conference play while Ohio Dominican improves to 2-1 overall and 2-1 in the GLIAC.

The Cardinals return to action this Friday (Sept. 13) when they travel to play Walsh University in the first of a three-match swing through Ohio.  The match is set to begin at 2:00 pm.
