SVSU Falls At Ferris State, 7-2

BIG RAPIDS, Mich. - The Saginaw Valley State University women's tennis team was defeated today (Sept. 19) in a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) match by Ferris State University, 7-2.

Picking up the Cardinal's only doubles point of the day was the No. 1 doubles team of Izabella Ismailova (Almaty, Kazkhstan / Military College of Sport) and Erin Doud (Northville, Mich. / Northville HS), who outscored their opponents 8-3.  Doud also had an impressive outing in No. 3 singles, but was eventually edged out in a tiebreaker 4-6, 7-6, 10-7.  Charlotte Wong (Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island / Colonel Gray Senior High) in No. 4 singles was able to pick up Saginaw Valley's final point of the day, winning 6-3, 6-4.

With the loss, the Cardinals fall to 2-5 overall on the season and in GLIAC while the Bulldogs improve to 4-4 on the season and in conference.

Saginaw Valley will return to action tomorrow (Sept. 20) when they travel to Grand Valley State for a GLIAC match set to begin at 12:00 PM.
