Cardinals Start GLIAC Season with Defeat at Wayne State

DETROIT, Mich. – The Saginaw Valley State University tennis team suffered a 6-1 defeat at Wayne State on Saturday afternoon. The Cardinals (1-8, 0-1 GLIAC) begin GLIAC play 0-1 with the loss to the Warriors (3-3, 1-0 GLIAC).

Nicoletta Diamantopoulos earned the lone point for SVSU when she won her matchup at number four singles by a score of 3-6, 7-6 (7-5), 6-2. Lydia Liong and Elizabeth Stuart were victorious at number two doubles, 6-3, but the point went to Wayne State as they took two of the three matches to start the afternoon.
