MIDLAND, Mich. – The Saginaw Valley State University tennis team competed at the two-day invitational hosted by Northwood this weekend. The Cardinals had a few standouts during play, with Irene Latorre Barreiro going 6-0 on the weekend, with three wins in singles and three more in doubles. Anastasia Diamantopoulos also won all three of her singles contests, while Natalie Schoenherr and Dalton DeBoer were 2-1 in singles play over the two days of competition.
Duos Lydia Liong Tng En / Amelia Dickson and Dalton DeBoer / Katie Lucke won both of their matchups in doubles.
SVSU has its first head-to-head matchup this Friday, September 26, when it travels to face NCAA Division III Hope in Holland, Michigan. The match is scheduled to start at 4:00 p.m.
