    UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - In the bottom of the seventh, game tied 6-6 of Game 2, senior Kevin Schwedler (Midland, Mich.) stepped to the plate and drove a walk-off single to left field to cap the game, and his career in a Cardinal uniform, today (May 4) against Rochester College. In doubleheader action, SVSU took both games, 2-1, and 7-6.

In Game 2, the Cardinals and Lakers fought to a 4-4 tie when the game was called due to darkness, and will be completed when these teams meet April 25 in Allendale, Mich.

The Cardinals won the series, 2-1.

    TIFFIN, Ohio. – The Saginaw Valley State baseball team lost a double-header today (March 18) to begin the 2009 GLIAC season. In the first game the Cardinals held off the the Dragons until the bottom of the ninth inning before falling, 2-1. In the second, Tiffin defeated Saginaw Valley in seven innings, 9-5.
