UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - The Saginaw Valley State University Athletics Department is set to host its second Community Youth Day event of the 2010-11 season on Saturday, Oct. 16. The event will feature a Youth Baseball and Softball Clinic. The clinic will take place from 10:30-11:30 am, with registration beginning at 9:45 am. The clinic is being held in conjunction with the SVSU football team's home game against the University of Indianapolis at noon. The event is once again open to all Girls and Boys in the Great Lakes Bay Region who are in the grades K-8.
The first 100 kids will receive a free bicycle helmet and custom fitting following the clinic AND "2" bicycles will be given away AND a family package for ski/snowboard helmets (limit 6 helmets per family).
* All Clinics are FREE!!
* Clinics are conducted by SVSU coaching staff
and student athletes at SVSU's Ryder Center.
* Clinic participants will receive free
admission to the game that follows the clinic, a coupon for a free
hot dog and pop at the concession stand, a free T-shirt and
potential halftime performances. Parent(s) accompanying
clinic participants will also receive complimentary admission to
the game following the clinics.
* T-shirts can be worn into Graff Chevrolet of
Bay City for a free oil change.
* College scholarships, a karaoke machine,
bicycles and bicycle helmets are also given away during

SVSU Cardinal Kids Club members will receive fast tracked
registration at the event and a photo with the Cardinal mascot and

The first Community Youth Day, a free Basketball Clinic, was held on Saturday, Oct. 9th at SVSU. The first of five clinics, which was held in conjunction with the Cardinals' football game against Michigan Tech, was attended by 79 Girls and Boys, in grades K-8, from the Great Lakes Bay Region. Walker Wenzler was the lucky recipient of a $250 College Scholarship.
