SVSU Basketball Lands Transfer Drew Janer

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - Saginaw Valley State University men's basketball coach Randy Baruth announced the addition of former Bay City All Saints standout Drew Janer for the 2012-13 season today (June 28).

Janer, a 6'2'', guard from Bay City, Mich., played his prep basketball at All Saints High School where he averaged 23.6 points, 6.2 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 3.7 steals per game. He attended Michigan Tech University in 2011-12 where he was a member of the football team.

"SVSU men's basketball is excited to announce the commitment of Drew Janer to our program. Drew has the toughness and work ethic it is going to take to help get this program moving in the right direction. Drew comes from a family that understands the team concept and the sacrifices that come a long with being the best you can be," commented Baruth.

Janer was a three-year varsity player that helped lead his team to 52 wins, two regional titles and the first Greater Thumb West title in school history. He was named Class D Player of the Year and first team All-State his senior season. Janer was also a standout on the gridiron where he was selected twice as the Golden Helmet Player of the Year in Class D and to the Bay City Times Dream Team. He also set school records for rushing yards in a game, season and career.
