BAY CITY, Mich. - Saginaw Valley State University senior golfer Mike Horn (Clarkston, Mich.) has been named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Men's Golf "Athlete of the Week" after finishing in third place at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside Spring Invitational.
Horn helped the Cardinals finish in fifth place over the weekend with a weather-shortened 27-hole score of 482. Horn fought the poor weather conditions to shoot a 75 (+3) in the opening round before posting a 38 (+2) in the tournament's final nine holes for a 113 total (+5), finishing just one stroke behind a pair of Bellarmine University golfers who tied for medalist honors.
