UNIVERSITY CENTER, MICH. - Saginaw Valley State University baseball had two players named to the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Midwest Region All-Defensive Team. Junior catcher Connor Cornwell and sophomore first baseman Ryan Jarvis both earned the first All-Defensive honors of their careers.

Cornwell posted a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage, recording 230 putouts and 29 assists over 259 total chances. He also threw out 14 base runners in 37 stolen base attempts, finishing with a .378 caught stealing percentage, the highest by a Cardinal catcher since 2011. The Sterling Heights, Michigan native threw out the second-most baserunners in the GLIAC.

Jarvis was nearly flawless in the field across 50 games at first base, totaling 380 putouts, 11 assists, and just two errors in 393 total chances for a .995 fielding percentage. He also played a role in 23 of the 26 double plays turned by SVSU this season.
