UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – The Saginaw
Valley State University football team will open its 2009 season
Thursday night (Aug. 27) on the road against California (Pa.) at
7:00 pm. Cardinal fans will be able to listen to the game live on
the radio at 100.5 FM in the Tri-City area. The game will also be
broadcast on the web at www.espn1009.com.
The Cardinals’ first two games this season will be carried
on 100.5 FM before moving over to their flagship home on ESPN Radio
100.9 FM WLUN for the remainder of the season, barring any other
game conflicts.
ESPN Radio 100.9 FM WLUN will produce all 2009 SVSU football games
for broadcast, as well as most 2009-10 men’s basketball and
at least five women’s basketball games, marking the first
time that SVSU has had a season of basketball broadcast over the
airwaves.
In addition to game coverage, listeners will also enjoy
“Cardinal Coaches Corner,” a 30-minute weekly talk show
broadcast live from the Meijer store on Tittabawassee Road. For the
2009 football season, the show will be broadcast on Thursdays at
6:30 p.m. A joint men’s and women’s basketball show
will air on Mondays at 6:30 p.m. during the 2009-10 season. Meijer
will also be the presenting sponsor for all SVSU broadcasts over
the course of the agreement. All games and Cardinal Coaches Corner
shows will also be carried live on ESPN1009.com, allowing parents
and fans outside the region to listen online.
ESPN Radio 100.9 FM WLUN aired two men’s basketball games
during the 2008-09 season on a trial basis.
